In the January 12, 1996 edition of The Gaffney Ledger, the following article appeared

Internet surfers might find a familiar scene now while browsing through the vast regions of cyberspace.

A "Peachoid Home Page" is now on the 'Net, complete with a photograph of the local landmark and its history.

"Behold, the beloved Peachoid ...," the page starts out. "WHAT IS IT? The Peachoid is a water tower located right on I-85 in Gaffney, S.C. that has been cleverly disguised as a peach..."

The page includes the dimensions of the structure, how it came to be built, who was involved and interesting facts including the number of welds and total gallons of paint involved in building the water tower.

The page can be found at this address on the Internet: http://funnelweb.utcc.utk.edu/~tmorgan/peachoid
